What we handle
The website is a static site. Its current client scripts do not run analytics or collect payment-card details. Normal web requests may be processed by the site host. If you email [email protected], Pongu, LLC receives the address and message so it can respond.
Polar handles paid checkout, receipts, license records, activations, and the customer portal. The in-app trial also uses Polar for its license and expiration, with a separate email-verification service described below. Review Polar’s Buyer Terms and privacy policy for those transactions; the Pongu website does not collect your card number.
Trial registration and activation
When you start a trial in Pongu, the app sends your email address, a random request identifier, and the verification code you enter to Pongu’s trial service, hosted by Cloudflare. The service also processes your IP address to limit abuse. Resend receives your email address and code to deliver the verification email. Requesting a code does not sign you up for marketing or require a checkout.
After verification, the service uses your email address with Polar to create or recover your trial license. The app sends the license key and a label identifying your Mac to Polar for activation. Cloudflare, Resend, and Polar process this information to provide their services; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy, Resend’s privacy policy, and Polar’s privacy policy.
Verification codes expire after 10 minutes. Pongu’s service stores protected hashes of verification and rate-limit identifiers, request timing and attempt counts, and Polar customer, subscription, and license identifiers and expiry information. These records support verification, recovery, and prevention of repeated trials. Code or trial expiry does not automatically delete the stored records.
Native app data
The native app can store Pongu-owned conversation state, optional conversation-scoped memory, configuration, diagnostics, job state, and Messages delivery state on the Mac. What is retained depends on the features you enable and the conversations you allow. macOS Messages permissions are broad at the operating-system level; Pongu’s configured conversation rules restrict which conversations it processes and answers.
Your selected AI app manages its provider sign-in, tools, and integrations. Requests, attachments usable by the selected AI, and relevant recalled context can be sent to that provider. Optional voice transcription runs on the Mac; the resulting text is included in the AI request. Pongu’s Connections page shows integrations managed by your AI app.
Disconnecting and deleting data
Use Memory in Pongu to turn off or erase conversation memory. Manage integration sign-ins and revoke access through your AI app or the relevant provider. Disconnecting an integration does not delete provider-side messages, events, or files.
Memory and logs are separate stores: erasing memory does not clear activity history. Use Clear logs to remove Pongu’s logs, including activity history. For help removing other local Pongu data, contact [email protected]. Do not email passwords, tokens, or other credentials.
To request access to or deletion of trial registration records, email [email protected] from the address used for your trial. We may need to verify the request and retain records needed for license enforcement, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Deleting the app or clearing local memory does not delete records held by the trial service, Resend, or Polar.
If you used an earlier test version with Pongu-managed accounts, local metadata and Keychain credentials may remain. Contact support for removal help; revoke any remaining authorization with the account provider.
Retention, security, and changes
Pongu retains local activity history for up to 72 hours; storage limits may shorten that window. It includes conversation text, tool activity, and delivery outcomes, with credentials redacted, and can be queried only through your designated private conversation for managing Pongu. Other local stores, including conversation state and memory, have separate lifecycles.
Pongu retains support correspondence as needed to respond and maintain records. Content sent to your AI provider, Apple, Polar, or connected services is subject to that service’s own terms and retention practices.
Pongu uses local file permissions, credential redaction, and access checks to protect app-owned data. Your AI app manages its own credentials and authorization. No security measure guarantees absolute protection. We may update this policy when data practices change; the effective date above identifies the current version.
